Visiting a new church can feel like a lot. We want to take the mystery out of it — here's exactly what Sunday morning at Mt. Horeb looks like.
No surprises. No awkward moments. Just a warm welcome and a service you'll feel comfortable in.
Beginning September 13, the fellowship hall is open every Sunday from 9:00 to 9:45. Coffee, juice, pastries and muffins. The children hear a Bible story in their own corner. A short devotion for the adults. We finish together with a familiar song.
At 9:45 everyone is invited to the sanctuary to prepare for worship which begins at 10am. We hope you will join us there as well.
During worship, children will experience our new outreach with “Follow the Cross” and a special gospel message just for them outside the sanctuary.
You do not need to arrive early, dress up, or know anyone. Come as you are, at nine or at ten. Bring someone. Bring no one. Both are welcome.
Park in the main lot — there's always space — or use the visitor spaces reserved right at the front door on East Boundary Street. You'll be greeted at the door by a friendly face. No sign-in required. No one will ask you to stand up and introduce yourself.
Sunday worship begins at 10:00 AM and runs about 60–75 minutes. It's a traditional Lutheran service — liturgy, hymns, scripture, and a message that speaks to everyday life.
No pressure to rush off. If you have questions or just want to say hello, Pastor Ron is glad to meet you — and anyone here can point you toward what you're looking for.
Seriously. Some people dress up. Some people wear jeans. Both are welcome. What matters is that you show up — not what you show up in.
Mt. Horeb is a place for real people. We're not interested in appearances. We're interested in you.
Children are a full part of our worship community. Kids are welcome in the sanctuary throughout the service — wiggles, whispers, and all.
We also offer a children's program during the service for kids who want their own age-appropriate experience. Check-in is near the main entrance.
Our Mt. Horeb Preschool serves children ages 2–4 on weekday mornings. Many families start at the preschool and find their way to the congregation from there.

If you've got a question that's not here, just email us at frontdesk@mthoreb.net.
Not at all. Mt. Horeb is an ELCA Lutheran congregation, but we welcome anyone who wants to worship with us — regardless of background, tradition, or no tradition at all. You don't need to know anything about Lutheran liturgy to feel at home here.
We've thought a lot about this. We train our greeters and members to be genuinely welcoming without being overwhelming. You'll be greeted, helped to find a seat, and introduced to people naturally — nobody will put you on the spot.
Communion at Mt. Horeb is open to all baptized Christians. If that's not you yet, you're still welcome to come forward and receive a blessing — just cross your arms over your chest. No one will make a big deal of it either way.
Please do. You can email us at frontdesk@mthoreb.net or reach out through our Connect page. Pastor Ron is also happy to talk — just ask.
No. You're welcome to attend, participate, and get involved without ever formally joining. When and if membership ever makes sense for you, we'll talk about it. There's no pressure timeline.
Sunday worship starts at 10:00 AM. We'd love to see you this week.
