First Time Here?

We've Been
Expecting You.

Visiting a new church can feel like a lot. We want to take the mystery out of it — here's exactly what Sunday morning at Mt. Horeb looks like.

Everything You Need to Know

No surprises. No awkward moments. Just a warm welcome and a service you'll feel comfortable in.

01

Arriving

Park in the main lot — there's always space. You'll be greeted at the door by a friendly face. No sign-in required. No one will ask you to stand up and introduce yourself.

  • Doors open 30 minutes before service
  • Greeters will help you find your seat
  • Children's check-in is near the entrance
  • Bulletins are available at the door
02

The Service

Sunday worship begins at 10:00 AM and runs about 60–75 minutes. It's a traditional Lutheran service — liturgy, hymns, scripture, and a message that speaks to everyday life.

  • Bulletin guides you through every part
  • Music is live — organ, piano, and vocals
  • Message is practical and scripture-based
  • Communion is open to all baptized Christians
03

After the Service

We gather for coffee and conversation after worship. It's casual and unhurried — the best part of Sunday morning, honestly. No pressure to stay, but everyone's glad when you do.

  • Coffee hour in the fellowship hall
  • Great chance to meet people naturally
  • Pastor Ron is available to meet and chat
  • Info table with ministry details

Come As You Are.

Seriously. Some people dress up. Some people wear jeans. Both are welcome. What matters is that you show up — not what you show up in.

Mt. Horeb is a place for real people. We're not interested in appearances. We're interested in you.

Your Kids Are Welcome Here Too.

Children are a full part of our worship community. Kids are welcome in the sanctuary throughout the service — wiggles, whispers, and all.

We also offer a children's program during the service for kids who want their own age-appropriate experience. Check-in is near the main entrance.

Our Mt. Horeb Preschool serves children ages 2–4 on weekday mornings. Many families start at the preschool and find their way to the congregation from there.

Things People Wonder Before Their First Visit

If you've got a question that's not here, just email us at frontdesk@mthoreb.net.

Do I have to be Lutheran to attend?

Not at all. Mt. Horeb is an ELCA Lutheran congregation, but we welcome anyone who wants to worship with us — regardless of background, tradition, or no tradition at all. You don't need to know anything about Lutheran liturgy to feel at home here.

Will it be awkward if I don't know anyone?

We've thought a lot about this. We train our greeters and members to be genuinely welcoming without being overwhelming. You'll be greeted, helped to find a seat, and introduced to people naturally — nobody will put you on the spot.

Can I take communion?

Communion at Mt. Horeb is open to all baptized Christians. If that's not you yet, you're still welcome to come forward and receive a blessing — just cross your arms over your chest. No one will make a big deal of it either way.

What if I want to talk to someone before I visit?

Please do. You can email us at frontdesk@mthoreb.net or reach out through our Connect page. Pastor Ron is also happy to talk — just ask.

Do I have to become a member?

No. You're welcome to attend, participate, and get involved without ever formally joining. When and if membership ever makes sense for you, we'll talk about it. There's no pressure timeline.

Ready to See for Yourself?
